“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.” — Carl Jung
Life can sometimes become overwhelming for many reasons. You may be struggling with what is happening internally—your thoughts, emotions, or the way you’re feeling—or facing challenges in the world around you, such as difficulties in relationships, loss, work or school stress, health concerns, or a significant change in your life.
Shasha works with adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and life challenges, including stress and anxiety, depression and mood concerns, trauma, chronic pain, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, occupational stress, burnout, and major life transitions.
She believes therapy can be an important form of self-care: a place where you don’t have to have everything figured out before you arrive. Shasha creates a safe, nonjudgmental, and authentic space where clients can speak openly, better understand themselves and their experiences, and begin working toward meaningful change.
Shasha supports adults experiencing:
Shasha believes there is no single approach to therapy that works for everyone. She tailors treatment to each client’s individual experiences, needs, and goals.
Her training includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, attachment-based therapy, relational therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT).
Rather than approaching therapy with a predetermined formula, Shasha considers both what a client is experiencing now and the experiences, relationships, and patterns that may have shaped how they think, feel, and respond.
Together, therapist and client develop a treatment plan that reflects not only the difficulties bringing someone to therapy, but also what they hope will be different as a result of the work.
Shasha believes that most people are doing their best to navigate life’s challenges with the resources available to them—and that there are times when additional support can make a meaningful difference.
She views psychotherapy as an important form of self-care and creates a space where clients can explore difficult thoughts, emotions, relationships, and experiences without judgment.
A central part of her work is helping clients develop greater self-understanding and self-compassion. Rather than criticizing ourselves for struggling, therapy can help us become curious about why we feel or respond the way we do and begin developing different ways of navigating those experiences.
For Shasha, therapy is ultimately about helping clients feel better equipped to understand themselves, cope with life’s challenges, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.
Shasha provides individual psychotherapy to adults experiencing a broad range of mental health concerns and life circumstances.
Her work may be particularly helpful for individuals navigating anxiety or mood difficulties, trauma, chronic pain or health concerns, grief, relationship challenges, occupational stress and burnout, multicultural experiences, or periods of significant transition and adjustment.
