“We can’t change the past, so we change how people are thinking, feeling, and behaving today.” — Albert Ellis
If you understand that your anxiety is probably sounding a false alarm but still can’t seem to turn it off—or you keep finding yourself caught in behaviours and patterns you genuinely want to change—you may be looking for more than a place to simply talk about what’s happening.
Magda works with adults who appreciate therapy that offers clarity, direction, and practical tools alongside space for reflection. Her style is thoughtful and supportive, but also active and goal-oriented. Together, you work toward understanding what keeps a difficulty going and what can help interrupt the cycle.
Magda has particular experience with anxiety in its many forms, including health anxiety and social anxiety, body-focused repetitive behaviours such as skin picking and hair pulling, and helping clients navigate workplace injuries and the process of returning to work.
Magda works with adults experiencing:
Magda’s work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and incorporates exposure-based strategies when appropriate.
A key part of therapy is understanding the cycle you’re caught in. Anxiety and compulsive behaviours can be maintained by patterns that provide relief in the short term but make the problem stronger over time. Therapy can help you recognize those patterns and gradually begin responding differently.
Magda’s approach is often structured and goal-oriented, but it isn’t rigid. Therapy moves at a pace that takes your individual circumstances and readiness into account, balancing meaningful challenge with emotional safety.
The emphasis is on developing skills and strategies you can use beyond the therapy room—not simply understanding why something is happening, but having a clearer sense of what you can do differently when it does.
Magda believes good therapy can be both reflective and practical.
There may be times when the most useful work involves learning a specific strategy, practicing a skill, or gradually facing something anxiety has taught you to avoid. At other times, it may mean stepping back and understanding how your experiences have shaped the way you respond to yourself, other people, or uncertainty.
This balance can also be valuable when returning to work after an injury or period away. Magda supports clients as they navigate the emotional and psychological aspects of recovery and return to work, including anxiety, confidence, adjustment, and the challenges that can arise when re-entering the workplace.
Magda also works with adults whose present-day difficulties are connected to earlier family experiences, including those who grew up taking on too much responsibility, navigating unpredictable emotions at home, or being affected by a family member’s substance use.
The goal isn’t endless insight or a collection of coping strategies. It’s to use both understanding and action to create changes that matter in your everyday life.
Magda provides individual psychotherapy to adults (18+).
She may be particularly well suited to clients who want therapy with some structure and direction, including those ready to work actively on anxiety, avoidance, compulsive behaviours, adjustment, or recovery and return-to-work goals.
