Lise Depatie 20+ Years Supporting Children & Families

Psychometrist • Registered Early Childhood Educator

Lise Depatie

Meet Lise

For more than 20 years, Lise has built her career around one thing: helping children grow, learn, and thrive.

As a Registered Early Childhood Educator, she has spent decades working directly with children and families—supporting development, helping parents navigate challenges, facilitating early-learning programs, and creating opportunities for children to build confidence and resilience.

That experience now brings a valuable developmental perspective to her work as a psychometrist at Lakeview Psychology, where she works alongside Dr. Ryan Kneer, C.Psych., to provide comprehensive psychoeducational assessments.

Lise’s Role in Assessment

As a psychometrist, Lise works directly with children and youth as part of the psychoeducational assessment process.

Testing can be unfamiliar—and sometimes a little intimidating—especially for younger children. Lise’s extensive background in early childhood education allows her to bring a warm, patient, and child-centred presence to the experience.

Her role involves administering standardized assessment measures under the direction of Dr. Kneer and helping create an environment where children can engage comfortably and do their best.

The information gathered through testing becomes one important part of the larger assessment, helping the assessment team develop a clearer picture of a child’s learning profile, cognitive abilities, strengths, and areas where additional support may be beneficial.

Experience With Children & Families

Long before becoming a psychometrist, Lise was supporting children and the people who care for them.

Over more than two decades as a Registered Early Childhood Educator, she has facilitated early-learning and school-readiness programs, supported parents, and delivered community programming designed to strengthen children and families.

Her experience includes facilitating programs such as School’s Cool and early-learning preschool programs, as well as parent workshops including 1-2-3-4 Parents! and Nobody’s Perfect.

Lise is also a Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) provider, reflecting her longstanding commitment to helping parents develop practical strategies and confidence in supporting their children.

Lise’s Approach

Lise believes that every child deserves the opportunity to feel capable, confident, and understood.

Children don’t all develop or learn in exactly the same way. For Lise, recognizing those individual differences isn’t about focusing on what a child can’t do—it’s about understanding the child more clearly so that the adults around them can provide the right kinds of support and opportunities for success.

Her extensive experience with children also means she understands the importance of meeting them where they are. She brings patience, encouragement, and a genuine enjoyment of working with young people to the assessment process.

Training & Community Experience

Lise is a Registered Early Childhood Educator with more than 20 years of experience working with children and families.

In addition to her work in early childhood education and parent programming, Lise has served in community leadership roles, including chairing and co-chairing her local Neighbourhood Community Team committee in Sudbury for two years.

She has also pursued further education through Stuart Shanker’s Self-Reg course with The MEHRIT Centre, expanding her understanding of self-regulation and the factors that can influence children’s behaviour, learning, and well-being.

In recent years, Lise’s work has expanded into psychoeducational assessment, allowing her to combine her extensive experience with children and families with a growing role in helping identify the supports children may need to succeed.

Part of Lakeview’s Assessment Team

At Lakeview Psychology, Lise works alongside Dr. Ryan Kneer, C.Psych., as part of our psychoeducational assessment team.

Together, the assessment process is designed to go beyond identifying areas of difficulty. The goal is to better understand how a child learns, where their strengths lie, what may be getting in the way, and what supports can help them move forward.

Interested in an Assessment?

If your child is struggling academically, you’re wondering whether a learning or attention difficulty may be contributing, or you simply want a clearer understanding of how your child learns, a psychoeducational assessment can provide valuable answers and direction.
