Meet Jessica

People don’t always arrive at therapy with one clearly defined problem. Sometimes anxiety overlaps with relationship difficulties. Trauma affects the way emotions are managed. A neurodevelopmental difference changes how someone experiences the world. Or years of coping with several challenges at once have simply become exhausting.

Jessica is comfortable working in that complexity.

With experience in the field of psychology dating back to 2007, Jessica has supported individuals with a wide range of emotional, behavioural, developmental, and mental health needs. She brings an authentic, empathetic, and nonjudgmental presence to therapy while helping clients make sense of what’s happening and find practical ways to move forward.

How Jessica Can Help

Jessica has experience supporting clients with:

  • Anxiety and excessive worry
  • Depression and low mood
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Trauma and difficult life experiences
  • Grief and loss
  • Anger and emotional regulation
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Self-esteem
  • Major life transitions
  • Learning difficulties
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Tourette’s syndrome
  • Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Dual diagnoses and overlapping mental health concerns

Jessica’s Approach to Therapy

Jessica draws from training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), behaviour therapy, trauma-focused therapy, grief and loss, and group therapy.

Her breadth of experience allows her to look beyond a single symptom or diagnosis and consider how different pieces of a person’s experience may be interacting.

Therapy may involve developing strategies to manage intense emotions, changing patterns of thinking or behaviour that are no longer helpful, processing difficult experiences, navigating relationships, or adjusting to significant changes in life.

Jessica adapts the work to the needs of the individual, balancing insight, practical skill-building, and emotional support.

What Therapy With Jessica Looks Like

Jessica knows that life—and mental health—can be complicated.

She doesn’t expect clients to fit neatly into a diagnostic category or arrive knowing which part of their experience needs attention first. Instead, she takes time to understand the whole picture: what you’re struggling with, what you’ve lived through, how you tend to cope, what is happening around you, and what you would like to be different.

Her style is authentic, empathetic, insightful, and nonjudgmental. There is room to talk openly about difficult emotions, behaviours, relationships, diagnoses, or experiences without reducing you to any one of them.

Jessica also brings substantial experience supporting people whose needs may involve several layers at once. That perspective allows therapy to remain flexible: sometimes the work calls for concrete skills and strategies; sometimes it calls for understanding, processing, and simply having somewhere safe to begin untangling what’s happening.

The goal is not to fit you into a box. It’s to understand you well enough to determine what support will actually be useful.

Who Jessica Works With

Jessica provides individual psychotherapy and has extensive experience working with people with diverse and complex needs, including individuals with dual diagnoses, learning difficulties, neurodevelopmental differences, and significant mental health concerns.

She may be particularly well suited to clients who have felt that their concerns overlap, don’t fit neatly into one category, or require a therapist who is comfortable looking at several parts of the picture at once.
