Meet Cristina

Sometimes what brings us to therapy is clear. Other times, we simply know that something isn’t working—we keep finding ourselves in the same relationship patterns, feeling overwhelmed by emotions we don’t fully understand, or noticing that experiences from the past continue to shape how we feel and connect with others today.

Cristina works with adults who want space to slow down, make sense of what they’re experiencing, and understand themselves more deeply. She brings warmth, curiosity, and creativity to therapy, offering a private and nonjudgmental space to explore not only what is happening, but what may be underneath it.

How Cristina Can Help

Cristina has particular experience supporting adults with:

  • Relationship difficulties and recurring relationship patterns
  • Anxiety and worry
  • Complex childhood trauma
  • Depression and low mood
  • Grief and loss
  • Difficult or overwhelming emotions
  • Understanding how past experiences affect the present
  • Self-understanding and personal growth

Cristina’s Approach to Therapy

Cristina takes an integrative approach, bringing together an understanding of psychological development, emotions, and neuroscience to help clients make sense of their current difficulties.

For Cristina, therapy isn’t only about reducing symptoms. It’s also an opportunity to become curious about the experiences, emotions, relationships, and ways of coping that have shaped you—and to understand how they may still be influencing your life today.

At the same time, understanding the past is only useful if it helps you in the present. Cristina helps clients recognize the skills and strengths they already possess while developing new ways of thinking, feeling, relating, and experiencing life.

What Therapy With Cristina Looks Like

Cristina sees therapy as something you build together.

Early sessions focus on getting to know you: what has brought you to therapy, what’s important in your history, what’s happening in your life now, and what you hope might change. You don’t need to arrive with perfectly defined goals. Part of the process can be figuring those out together.

As therapy unfolds, you might explore emotions that are difficult to put into words, notice patterns in your relationships, make connections between past and present experiences, or experiment with different ways of responding to yourself and others.

Cristina brings curiosity and creativity to this process. Rather than assuming there is one right way to do therapy, she works collaboratively with you to discover what helps you better understand yourself, alleviate distress, and create meaningful change.

Who Cristina Works With

Cristina provides individual therapy to adults (18+) experiencing emotional, relational, and mental health concerns.

She may be particularly well suited to clients who are curious about themselves and want to understand how their experiences, emotions, and relationships may be connected—not simply manage what’s happening on the surface.

At Lakeview Psychology, Cristina works as a therapist under the direct supervision of Dr. Andrea Guthrie, C.Psych.

Ready to Get Started?

You don’t need to fully understand what’s happening before coming to therapy. Sometimes, understanding is part of the work.

If you’re looking for a space to explore your experiences, relationships, and emotions with greater curiosity and depth, Cristina may be a good fit.
